Frozn Fruit

One of our snacks in summer is frozen fruit. I just put peeled bananas and cut pineapples on wooden chopsticks and then put them in the freezer. My husband likes banana the most.

Peaches

I bought peaches that were carefully packed at the store a few days ago. I had checked every morning and waited until they were ripe. When they smelled full of sweet scents and they looked ripe enough, I put the peaches in the fridge for a couple of hours and then ate them. They were juicy and soft. It was worth the wait.

Seminole Orange

I bought oranges at the store today. When I cut them, the inside was a very orange colour and had a sweet taste.

Amanatsu & Amanatsu Cake

I saw my neighbor when I was walking this morning. He gave me a big orange called "amanatsu" from his back yard. The orange size was the same as both of my fists.
I baked a cake using it. I used the juice from half of the orange in the cake batter. While the cake was baking in the oven, I made syrup from the other half of the orange. I soaked the cake in the syrup after I baked it. The orange's sourness was good for the cake.

Raspberries (cake)

When I went for a walk last evening, I found some wild berries. I was very excited that the season has come! I decided to pick more berries this morning. Picking berries in the bush was a kind of zen for me. I didn't think anything while I was slowly walking and concentrating on the berries.
I also enjoyed blowing a perfectly shaped dandelion.
After I walked about half hour, I got handfuls of berries.
I baked a cake with the berries.
The wild raspberries have a little less flavor than raspberries from stores but they are fresh and juicy.

This is a face I made on my yogurt this morning using 2 prunes and orange syrup.
Sunny side up yogurt.
I bought some navel oranges again today.
I want to make orange syrup again.

Strawberry Vending Machine

The picture below is of a fruit vending machine near my house. The vending machine is on the road next to a fruit farm. You can buy different fruits depending on the season such as oranges, pears, peaches and strawberries.
The fruits are in a coin locker. You chose one room, put coins in a slot and then you can open the locker to get your fruit. There is a change machine next the fruit vending machine so you don't have to worry if you only have bills. Today, I stopped my car and checked which types of fruit were inside. There were only strawberries.
I don't think it is common to see food being sold outside in Japan but you can see it sometimes when you go to the countryside.

Oranges

On the way back home from work, I found oranges were on sale near my house.
In the area where I live, many neighbors grow oranges. Some people sell oranges by their yards. They pack the oranges in plastic nets, write a price on a board and leave a box for money. I like that they let us buy oranges this way. I see this system used for selling vegetables and fruit when I go out of the city.
Anyways, I was happy to find these oranges today because they each ripen in different seasons and I was waiting for them. One type are navel oranges and the other type are ponkan oranges. I bought one of each bag.
