Salmon Sashimi on Rice

After we went to see the movie Inception and did some food shopping this afternoon, I was tired, so my husband made this salmon sashimi on rice for me. He knows what the dish is like since I have made it many times. It was nice to eat a meal made by someone other than me.

Sauteed Salmon & Salad

Today's lunch was sauteed salmon, mushrooms and potato salad. I like that fresh salmon fillets are delicious and easy to get here.

Salmon Sashimi on Rice

Today, I made salmon sashimi on rice, which is a frequent supper for us. From the bottom, there is rice, white sesame seeds, roasted and torn nori, daikon sprouts, avocado and salmon sashimi. This is what I usually use, although today, I added beefsteak plant and shredded daikon.

Salmon

I found a big slice of salmon at the store today. I decided to have it for lunch. I added mustard, white wine and rosemary and baked it at 230℃ in the oven.
After 30 minutes, the fish was cooked and the zucchini looked good too.
The salmon was delicious. It was interesting that it tasted much more delicious when I had some for leftovers that night.

Unatorodon

This picture below is "unatorodon". From the top, there is BBQ unagi(eel), nori(roasted laver), tororo(grated Japanese mountain yam), cucumber and rice. I guess it doesn't sounds that nice if you have never had unagi, nori or tororo but the dish is delicious. My husband and I enjoy it.

Chub Mackerel Fish

I sauteed some chub mackerel fish in butter and balsamic sauce for lunch today. On the side, I had some butter-sauteed Brussel sprouts, cheese macaroni and rice. Andrew told me that fat from fish was good for our health. I should eat more fish.

Fried Squid Balls

I had kept 3 squids in my freezer that my mom brought me awhile ago. I hadn't cook them since I didn't want to clean them. Finally, I decided to cook them today. I didn't take pictures of the squids because it was not nice.
Anyways, I cleaned and cut the squids and then I mixed them with some ginger, an egg, an onion, some corn starch and some seasoning in a food processor to make a paste. Next, I made balls using my small ice cream scoop. I fried the squid balls in oil.
I think squid balls are good as an appetizer. It was scary for me to clean and cut the 3 squids but the taste was good. One day, I might try to cook this again when I can overcome my fear of squid.
