Roses

There are some rose trees in the front yard of our house. I found one orange rosebud had opened this morning.
They have grown naturally and I don't know the name of the roses. The other rose plants have pink and red flowers. They will probably start blooming soon.

Chocolate Muffins

I baked muffins today. I put chocolate cream in center of the batter. The chocolate cream came out while baking in the oven though, which gave the muffins a unique look. Their taste was also quite unique, but not in a good way.

Kashiwamochi

May 5th is Children's Day. The picture below is of rice cakes wrapped in oak leaves, which is called kashiwamochi. I can buy it only around Children's Day every year. I enjoy having these sweets every year.

Strawbery and Orange Salad

I made strawberry and orange salad today. I made dressing using balsamic vinegar and the strawberries from the vinegar syrup. They went well together.

Azeleas and Peas

Today, we walked around near our house. It's azalea season now and so we could enjoy seeing many azaleas blooming.
We also noticed that our neighbors crop of peas were plentiful.

Raisin Buns

I baked raisin buns recently. I made the mistake of not leaving the dough long enough before baking it. So therefore, the buns were too hard.

Homemade Pizza

I made pizza for some guests today. I used pizza sauce that I had already made and I prepared dough for 4 pizza before the guests arrived:
Once they came, I only had to bake the pizzas while we chatted. I could enjoy spending time with them without having to be in the kitchen.
